Story

As the legacy goes, from deep in the Mariana Trench, a single egg nourished by Aquaman became the original sea creature. Years later, that creature spawned millions of eggs that evolved into new sea creatures that are now inhabiting the world’s oceans and coasts. Aquaman named these creatures Huggemons and called on our Sea Hugger Warriors to find and protect them all. And thus, the Legacy of Huggemon began. Get your nets ready, kids, how many Huggemons can you catch and protect?

Ways to play:

Poseidon’s War

Do you know how to play the card game, War? It’s just like that.

  1. Split the deck between 2 players, or battle with 1 deck/player.

  2. Each player flips a card at the same time on the playing “field”.

  3. Read your cards and their powers. Whoever has the higher number on the top right wins and clears that round.

  4. Whichever player has collected the most rounds, at the end of a deck, wins!

  5. Tiebreakers: keep the cards on the field, and on the count of “three”, each player flips another card. Whoever has the higher number card that time, wins the tiebreaker round.

Battle

  1. Each player deals four cards, three on the bench and one in the attack position.

  2. Each turn you can attack, draw or switch.

  3. Attack: this means you are attacking the other player with your card that is in the attacking position. To win your player must have the higher power number.

    1. You can defend yourself with different power options. Example: Group power allows you to place three cards in your attack position and their combined power is your attack number. These powers are left up to the kids to decide what each means. Shield power might mean that you can use two cards to defend yourself etc.

    2. Once you attack you have the option to respond, then the other player also has a chance to respond.

    3. If you lose you give the other player your cards, which they return to their deck

  4. Draw

    1. You can add a card to your bench - you may have up to six cards in your bench

  5. Switch

    1. You can move a different card to your attack position.

    2. Repeat this process until one player loses all their cards.

  6. Give all cards back to original player at the end of the game.

Incentive program

  1. Kiddos earn sea stars for cleaning, finishing assignments, etc. Once they get 10 sea stars, they get a Huggemon card. Once they collect all the cards, they get a full fancy deck they can then use to trade with friends/siblings.
